I'm in love with these pants. Who knew there was such awesome maternity clothes, and at Old Navy of all places! These were a score on sale for $30!! You know me and my neutrals... it's love ❤

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you all can take this day and remember all of those who have served and continue to serve our country (while enjoying yummy grilled food and sunshine)! Unless you're like me and are working a 16 hour shift in the hospital. Doctors don't do days off. Before I head in I figured I'd just share a few shots from the last week! Make sure to follow on Instagram (@LauraLacquer) for more!

Happy Monday! Just a quick hallway shot of a simple outfit I wore for dinner out one night not too long ago!
I have a feeling these Zara heels and my Asos jeans are going to be a go-to all summer!

N and I have been holding out for a while now with this little mint envelope, trying to ignore it as it whispered to us from its spot on top of the fireplace. But after being on call all weekend in the hospital and an amazing almost-Mother's Day dinner we had, we came home Sunday night and decided it was about time we know who's been kicking in there.

And it's a baby girl!! We are so excited and cannot wait to have her here!

Nothing better than having to google "pregnant club outfits." Horrible idea.
Thankfully I went with a flowy top, skinny jeans and nude heels to celebrate the end of our third year of medical school.
Casual days are best enjoyed in boyfriend jeans. These ones from Asos are becoming a favorite.
Right after trying to make this itty bitty bikini top work I decided it was time to buy a new bathing suit.
This clearly no longer works. But it was a gorgeous day.
My mom can't help herself.
I've only allowed her to buy grey since we don't want to know the sex of baby yet, but we will find out soon!
We didn't like the idea of a big gender reveal in front of everyone,
instead we opted for homemade cards that announce the sex -
the doctor put the answer in a sealed envelope that's been sitting on our fireplace for a few weeks now!
The temptation to open it is now really there!!

Thanks so much for reading and all of your sweet comments! xx

Casual Grey

Old Navy maternity tee (here), Charlotte Russe cardigan (similar here), Forever 21 jeans (here), Macy's flats (similar here)

This is a great time for me to realize that I probably shouldn't do the two-handed belly hold in every picture I take. Mental note taken.

{And on a more positive note, thank you so so much for your kind words in my last post announcing the big news! I appreciate each and every one of your comments.}

A Little Bit of... Baby!

Happy Friday! Those of you who follow me on Instagram have known for a while now, but it's time I officially announce it on the blog - I'm expecting!! (and engaged! but the baby bump is a little cooler than the ring).
I've been wanting to share news of this blessing since we found out back in January (while I was on my pediatrics rotation and thinking I had recurrent norovirus infections - thanks morning sickness), but being the doctors-in-training we are and knowing all of the things that can go wrong we wanted to be on the safe side and wait a while to spill the beans.

I'm now in my 20th week (halfway there!) and N and I couldn't be happier. Last week marked the end of third year medical school - I got through all of our clinical rotations and am now left with some free time and lots of planning to fill it with. What specialty am I going to go into? What will we name baby? Will we find a decently priced 2 bedroom in Boston?

I couldn't be more amazed by the support we've gotten from family, friends, and even our medical school, and of course you all!
So happy that you're all along for the rest of the ride now! For more updates make sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram!
