Denim on Denim

A simple, comfy all denim outfit I wore for class trying my best not to channel Britney and JT's infamous all denim outfit (here's a pic if you forgot how bad it was). I already know the two-tone flats are going to be one of my favorite pairs for spring! Anyway I'm so happy with the participation in our first Work It Wednesday (the link is still open if you want to submit your look), we will definitely be doing it again next Wednesday, so snap some pictures of your chic work-appropriate looks! The last two pictures just show how happy I am with the turnout... and that it's Friday ;) I hope you all have great weekends, and as always thanks so much for reading!

Work It Wednesday No.1

Happy Wednesday! Today we're celebrating A Little Bit of Lacquer's first link up - Work It Wednesday! Here bloggers from all over will link up work-appropriate outfits that range from business casual to conservative. We all love dressing up every day, but when your job requires "professional" attire, being stylish is a little more difficult. But so many of you make it look chic (and even easy)! I can't wait to see what looks you ladies wear to work. If you know of anyone who would be interested in this link up, please share it with them! If the feedback is good this will definitely be a weekly thing! Scroll down past my look for directions on how to link up!
Top, Old Navy
Cardigan, thrifted
Pants, F21
Pumps, Guess
Bag, Lo & Sons

To link up, click on the "click here to enter" link below. Enter your link for your post, and in the caption/title box enter your blog name. Make sure to crop your own image so the thumbnail looks exactly how you want it! That's it! So excited to see your looks!

Layers and a New Link-Up!

Top, F21
Cardigan, Charlotte Russe
Leggings, Rainbow
Boots, Jessica Simpson
Scarf, TJ Maxx

A simple layered outfit I wore for dinner Saturday night. Amazing dinner. Heavenly even. For those of you around Boston, we went to Orinoco, one of my favorite spots to eat that is not even a 5 minute walk from my place! Thankfully it's not cheap or else I'd be there every single day. Arepas, sweet plantains, rice and beans, molten chocolate cake? I need to stop!

In other not-so-mouth-watering news, I've decided to start a new link-up on the blog! I got great feedback on Twitter regarding a work look link-up. I love dressing down for class and whenever I'm out, but when I'm at the hospital business attire is a must. I love seeing what other bloggers wear for business attire (from business casual to super conservative), so I want to see what you've got! The link-up will be called "Work It Wednesday," and it starts tomorrow! So be here tomorrow and share your outfits with us! I'll make a badge thingy eventually but for now just look out for tomorrow's post and link up! Hope you guys are excited, I know I am! Thanks so much for reading and hopefully participating!

Chunky Knit and Dainty Floral

A cozy brunch outfit for a gorgeous sunny Sunday.
Top, Abercrombie
Cardigan, Urban Outfitters
Jeans, thrifted
Flats, Macy's

P.S. I can't believe the amazing response I got from you all in my last post regarding my natural curly hair! I wear it curly pretty often but usually not with outfits that I would ever take pictures of! But thank you so much for all of your comments, you'll be seeing more of the crazy mane! Enjoy the rest of your Sundays and as always thanks for reading!

Blazer and Natural Hair

Most of you who know me personally know I have crazy hair. Being mixed, unfortunately it's curly enough to look decent after I wash it (thanks Dad), but fine enough that the curls fall out into a frizzy wavy mess by day 2 (thanks Mom). So most of the time it's up in a bun or straightened into submission. But I washed it this morning and thought I'd share my curls with the world ;) Hope you all are having fabulous weeks - can't believe tomorrow is already Friday!

Blazer, Banana Republic

Simple Sunday Morning

Top, thrifted
Pants, American Apparel
Boots, Charlotte Russe
Bag, H&M

I love Sunday mornings. Probably my favorite time of the week; something just so easy about them. I was going to name this post "Easy Like Sunday Morning" until I googled the song and learned it was about a breakup :(  I always loved that song! But anyway, I hope your weekends are going great and you enjoy your Sundays - I'm going to start studying for this renal exam we have tomorrow... the kidneys are such a mystery to me! Hopefully they'll make more sense by 9am tomorrow.

Friday's Fancies: Red & Pink

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of neutrals. A peak into my closet or a scroll through the blog will reveal endless shades of beiges and blacks, and I'm not ashamed! But I do admit that every now and then a pop of color is necessary. Sometimes an explosion of color. So here we are. Valentine's Day is on the horizon and I've been adding a bit more pink into my outfits (here and here) and even my makeup (my favorite lately has been pink lipstick and a simple winged liner). Here I put together three outfits using the same pair of pink jeans, and of course a red & pink theme. This being Friday's Fancies, the idea is to put an outfit together with no budget, but I did find a cheaper version of pink jeans here that I had to share with you! I hope you enjoy the looks and your weekends! As always thanks so much for reading! Make sure to check out Long Distance Loving for other red & pink inspired looks!

Romantic Pinks and Neutrals

Top, thrifted
Cardigan, JCPenney
Pants, F21

With Valentine's Day (and hopefully spring) nearing, pinks and neutrals are finding their way into my outfits. Today I decided to keep it all neutral with romantic pinks. It reminds me of love, and babies! Speaking of babies, today I'm working with the newborns in the hospital! I bet you guys thought I was going to say something else ;) Hope you all are having wonderful weeks!
