Detailed Daily Skin Care Routine

I've written about my pregnancy beauty routine and winter skincare before on the blog, but after my most recent Instagram post many of you asked about what products I use - so here's a list in the exact order that I use them!

A tired clinic face lol! More info on my necklace and earrings here
AM:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cleanser - I wash with half a pump of this then pat my face dry.

Eye serum - I split a pea size of this serum on both eyes, patting it lightly under and around my eyes.

AM lotion*with* sunscreen - I put two pumps of this all over my face and neck.

(some days) 1% hydrocortisone ointment - I have a pesky eczema patch on my chin that still flares up sometimes - if it's angry that day I'll pat a light layer of hydrocortisone ointment over it.

Undereye concealer - Using the sponge applicator I apply this in an upside down triangle shape under my eyes. I wear the shade medium.

Eyebrow pencil - I lightly line the bottom of my eyebrows (which I pluck and trim myself) with this pencil then brush and shape them. I wear the shade dark brown.

PM:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cleanser - I wash with half a pump of this then pat my face dry.

Glycolic acid pads - I wipe one of these pads all over my face and neck, then let dry about 1 minute.

Eye serum - I split a pea size of this serum on both eyes, patting it lightly under and around my eyes.

PM lotion - I put two pumps of this all over my face and neck.

And that's it! Other than the glycolic acid pads and eyebrow pencil, pretty much everything you can find at your corner drugstore! Although I usually just buy everything on Amazon since it's usually the cheapest there!

Which products have made the BIGGEST difference in my skin? Definitely the glycolic acid resurfacing pads and my AM face lotion with sunscreen. I had stopped using the pads while I was pregnant, and just started using them again last week and seriously already see a huge difference in my skin! With this routine I can leave the house only wearing undereye concealer (and sometimes still need a dab of the same concealer on the corner of my chin that has that damn eczema patch)! Now I only wear more makeup if I want to get dolled up, not out of necessity!

  2. Love posts about skincare! If you're interested in Korean beauty, I listed my AM regimen (http://www.teawithmd.com/2015/04/a-3-step-morning-skincare-routine/) and my PM multi step regimen (http://www.teawithmd.com/2015/01/new-years-resolution-a-healthy-skincare-regimen/) handed down to me from my mother in law who got it from her mother. They both have beautiful wrinkle free skin so I'm a believer!

  3. Hi Laura!!
I've been following your blog for over a year and you're my biggest inspiration and motivation. Looking at your skin, it is very healthy. Thank you for this routine. I'd like to know how often do you wear full face makeup? Do you wear foundation everyday? And did you wear foundation when you were in high school?
    Thank you, lots of love

    1. Aw thank you so much! I never wore any makeup in high school. And I probably wear a full face of makeup about once a week? Sometimes more if there are lots of events or things I have to get dressed up for, but otherwise my daily routine is exactly what I wrote here (with only undereye concealer).

  4. Hi, Laura. Thanks for sharing your routine! Your skin is beautiful. I would love to get my skint to where I feel comfortable not wearing foundation every day but I have very unsightly acne which is *not* improving post-teen years (bummer!) so I don't see that happening any time soon. Anyway, I use Finacea gel every evening as prescribed by my dermatologist...can I use the Glycolic acid pads in addition to the Finacea or would that be a problem? Thanks so much!

  12. Hi Laura! MS4 on a research year at U of Pittsburgh here and absolutely love your blog! With all this free time on my research year I've had more time to research less intense stuff and am focusing on perfecting my skin care routine pre-internship! I'm curious why you don't have a retinoid in the mix, and if your glycolic acid patches are your replacement for that! I have been using tretinoin q3 days and definitely am looking for an peel to get the dry skin off on my off days, and would def be interested in giving your pads a try! Hope to hear back but otherwise I'll just wait for my derm elective and try for a free-valuation then :). Thank you for being such a wonderful role model and hope to run into you in the halls of one of the Boston hospitals someday soon!
