A Little Bit of Instagram and Blog Birthday!

So vacation is over. Today I'm at the hospital for day 1 of my 3 month surgery rotation. Here are some snapshots from my relaxed week off spent at home. A little bit of swimming, puppy cuddling (I've been dog-sitting a friend's angel of a dog), road tripping, drinking, nail painting, loving :) 

Aaaand, it slipped my mind, but yesterday was my blog's birthday! One year ago I decided to start this little blog to keep the little pretty things in life a priority despite advancing on in my medical school career. And a year later we're still here and going strong and it's all thanks to YOU my readers, my fellow bloggers, and my friends and family who have been so so supportive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Pink Refreshers

Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday evening I posted this picture on my instagram and couldn't believe the feedback I got there and on twitter! So of course I had to share this with you all and include the (super easy) recipe. I call these pink refreshers ;)

The "recipe" is as simple as this: just put ice in a cute glass, fill 1/3 of the glass with your favorite fruit juice (I used Punch flavored Juicy Juice this time, but I also love the berry and white grape flavors), and  top the rest with pink champagne! Add strawberries as garnish and enjoy on a hot summer evening! They're delicious! Remember to enter my giveaway if you haven't already! As always thanks for reading ❤

Vacation Date Nights

I finally finished my 3 month medicine rotation at the hospital and have 1 week of summer vacation before I jump into my 3 month surgery rotation. This vacation will be spent at home just relaxing and doing little things here and there. But look what draft of a post I found from my last vacation back in April!

Most nights on vacation were spent eating at one of the resort restaurants or ordering room service and eating on our balcony (where all of these pictures were taken), but a few nights were spent getting a little dressed up (just a little, it's still vacation after all) and going out somewhere. The long dress is from Old Navy and I wore it for a nice dinner, the jumpsuit (which I call my J.Lo jumpsuit) is from Target and I wore it for a fun night out dancing in Cancun!

Happy Wednesday! I hope your Wednesdays have been wonderful so far (or at least better than mine), I can't wait to see what you all link up with! I'm linking up a simple all-grey look (grey just might be my favorite color in the world, if it even counts as a color). 

So who worked it best during our last link up? You ladies all looked amazing and continue to blow me away with the looks you put together for work! My favorite look had to be Roni's from Style & Poise!

Not just because I'm a sucker for neutrals (which I am), or because I have an obsession with polka dots (which I do), but everything here is perfect! The shape of the top and skirt, the length of everything (perfect for the office), the pop of pink from her pumps and her demure accessories! Amazing job Roni, I want this entire outfit! Summer Studying

Happy Monday! Although most of this weekend was spent studying for my medicine shelf exam (it's today!), it was definitely not spent inside a library or tiny cubbyhole. Nope, it was spent soaking up sunshine and enjoying the company of, well,  squirrels. And Sunday I even got to spend some time with Dave :) Now to get this silly exam out of the way and finish up my last week of my medicine rotation!

Summer Essentials

Happy Wednesday everyone! Don't worry, Work It Wednesdays aren't gone for good, I've just decided to make the link up monthly instead of weekly. So stay tuned next week for July's Work It Wednesday and who worked it best in June's last link up! Sherbet Nails

I finally did my nails yesterday! I've been neglecting them for too long with my long hours in the hospital. But here's a look I tried out perfect for summer - reminds me of sherbet or popsicles! Start with one to two coats of a peachy color and let that dry completely. Then, using a makeup sponge (or the nail polish brush if you have a fine touch) dab on a darker pink or orangey-red color. Apply a shiny top coat before it's completely dry to help everything blend a little more, and voila! Nails yummy enough to eat!

Happy Friday everyone! Sorry for the paucity of posts lately, unfortunately between working ridiculous hours in the hospital, writing papers and preparing presentations, and studying for my medicine shelf exam, putting together posts (or even taking pictures) has fallen to the bottom of my to do list! Which makes me sad :( I miss daily blogging and interacting with you all! Someday life will be less busy. Hope you have fabulous weekends and thanks so much for reading!

A Little Bit of Weekend

Just a few shots from the weekend. I worked at the hospital all day Saturday and Sunday but thankfully still had my nights free! Summer nights are my favorite. Granted they can't be fully enjoyed knowing you have to wake up at 5 the next morning, but I'll take what I can.
