blank'/> A LITTLE BIT OF LACQUER: New Year's Eve in Paris

New Year's Eve in Paris

Yesterday afternoon it hit me. Exactly two years ago, I was on a plane going to London all by myself. I had just graduated college a semester early and saved up enough money (plus a little help from some plastic) for a month long trip to Europe. I didn't care that I was going all by myself, or that I had never been out of the country before, or that my entire family had just watched Taken and were all convinced I would be kidnapped and sold as a sex slave. I was going to Europe. And man did I make the right choice - I had the time of my life with amazing strangers who became amazing friends. It would take dozens of posts to even begin to describe the trip - so instead here are a few pictures from some of the cities I visited. Have you ladies traveled? I want to hear!

  1. i LOVE to travel, but idk if I would go alone. You are brave girl! But it sounds & looks like it was worth it. I saw you tweeted about being in Paris for New Years and I was hoping you would post pictures! lol My last vacay was to Rome, Turkey, & Greece. I'm dying to go to Spain next.

  2. Wow! These are places I would love to visit in the near future. I've traveled alot in my 25 years on this earth but the best place that I have visited would have to be Canada. I went there twice and it was soooo much fun. I think I'm going to Hawaii next Summer :)

    Happy holidays,
    Ashley

  4. Love ur pics! Beautiful and how daring of u to travel alone!
I'm from the Carribean but I now live in The Netherlands. I've had the chance to travel in the West Indies allot. When I moved to Europe I traveled less. I went to the nearby countries like Germany & Belgium. But everytime I saved up I went on vacation to my island (Curacao) because my parents live there. A couple of years ago I added an extra trip2 Jamaica because i really wanted something else. Next year I'll shop less and save more because I want to go to Barcelona for my b-day with my bf & parents who will be traveling this way. Ultimately I'll also save up to go to my island. Because even if I would like to see something else, there's no place like home!

  7. Laura, that's amazing! and very commendable that you traveled by yourself. I want to do that, but I have to admit, I am a little scared. Where did you stay and how did you book it? I would love to hear about some of the planning that went into it. Thanks!

  12. I love all the pics! Looks like you had a great time. I had to LOL at the comment about your family watching TAKEN, because as I was getting ready to travel to China for the first time, this movie had just been released on DVD and I had the same type of reaction from family and friends.
